How these reviews are written

Circuit & Chime is a smart-home enthusiast’s site, not a lab. We don’t claim to have owned every unit or run stopwatch tests, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we do is read the published specs, the manufacturer’s own documentation and the retailer listing, then translate them into plain English and an honest buyer-fit verdict. Where a brand doesn’t clearly publish a figure, we say “not published” instead of guessing. Because prices in this category move constantly, we never print a number from memory. Every review pulls the current price live at the moment you load the page, so the buy button shows what the product actually costs today rather than what it cost when the article was written. If a live price isn’t available, the button simply sends you to check — never a stale figure.

What each review covers

The format is deliberately repetitive so you can compare like with like. Each one opens with a blunt verdict, then covers who should buy it, its genuine strengths, the trade-offs we’d want you to know before you spend, and — the part we care most about — the subscription, storage and cost reality over the life of the product.
