Frequently asked questions

Does the eufy E340 doorbell work without a subscription?

Yes. The E340 records to built-in local storage with no monthly fee, and you can expand storage with a eufy HomeBase. An optional cloud plan exists, but the doorbell's core recording works with no subscription — which is exactly why it's our no-fee pick.

What are the two cameras on the eufy E340 for?

One camera watches the visitor at face height; the second looks down at the doorstep so you can see packages on the ground — a delivery you'd otherwise miss on a single-lens doorbell. The dual-camera package view is unusual at this price.

Can the eufy E340 be wired or run on battery?

Both. You can hardwire it to existing doorbell wiring for constant power, or run it on the rechargeable battery if you don't have wiring. That flexibility makes it easier to fit more homes than a wired-only doorbell.

What's the catch with the eufy E340?

Two things. eufy had a 2022 disclosure about how some cloud thumbnails were handled, so the brand's privacy history is worth reading before you buy — our eufyCam review covers it. And there's no Apple Home support, plus setup is a little fiddlier than Ring's.
