For a home with specific risks, or for life-safety devices like smoke and CO alarms, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and, where it matters, a qualified installer.

Frequently asked questions

Is Wyze or Blink better for avoiding a subscription?

Wyze. The Wyze Cam v4 records to a microSD card for free. Blink's included Sync Module Core does not save clips on its own — you either pay for a Blink plan or buy a Sync Module 2 and a USB drive to store locally.

Which has better battery life, Wyze or Blink?

Blink. The Blink Outdoor 4 runs on AA batteries for around two years and is fully wire-free. The Wyze Cam v4 needs USB power, so it isn't a battery camera at all — great value, but you need an outlet nearby.

Do Wyze and Blink work with Alexa and Google?

Both work with Alexa. Wyze also works with Google Home; Blink is effectively Alexa-only, since it's an Amazon brand. Neither works with Apple Home.
